Insectifera

Discover Insectifera, a captivating magazine that once brought the fascinating world of insects to life, inspiring nature lovers and entomologists.

Spreading the fascination of insects since 1993

Insectifera

Insectifera was a lively entomological magazine launched in 1993 by the Entomological Society of Gästrikland, created to captivate insect enthusiasts from the region and beyond. Its goal was to share knowledge about insects and other small creatures, with the name Insectifera reflecting its mission to inspire nature lovers and promote insect conservation.

Although no longer in production, Insectifera remains a cherished part of entomological history, celebrated for its engaging articles, field reports, and features that introduced readers to the fascinating world of insects. Contributors like Göran Sjöberg, a passionate member of the society, contributed many articles to the magazine. His dedication to entomology and to engaging younger generations made Insectifera a unique platform for sharing insights on insect life, conservation challenges, and the broader world of small creatures. While it was never intended to compete with formal scientific journals, Insectifera carved out its niche as a fun, informative resource for insect enthusiasts and aspiring entomologists alike.
